I Have Never Done This Before!

Yes, you read, right. I’m about to do something I’ve never done before, and it’s not easy for me to do, but here goes.

DayStar Ministries is in its 6th year of operation. During this time, we have been able to help many individuals and couples navigate a variety of situations. Most of those we have helped have been senior church leadership. God has allowed us to see some fulfillment of the initial vision, which led us down this path.

I wish I could communicate some of the victories we have witnessed. In general, I can say many have regained hope in their lives and marriages. Renewed hope has a phenomenal impact. I have heard many times, “Where were you twenty years ago?”

Partners In Counseling

Early on, DayStar Ministries initiated a program called ‘Partners in Counseling.’ To date, 11 churches are supporting DayStar Ministries every month. In truth, we need many more churches to join this effort, but we are incredibly grateful to those who have. Each church does receive some benefits as a result of their support. If you are one of those who have thought about becoming a ‘Partner in Counseling’ this would be an excellent time to join.

Because of the support from our monthly ‘Partners in Counseling,’ I have been able to meet many needs, I otherwise would have been unable to do. So, to each of you ‘Partner in Counseling’ members, thank you.

Which, brings me to explain what I have never done before.

A Specific Need

I have never asked for funds for a specific purpose, but that is about to change. DayStar Ministries needs computer equipment. 95% of clinical counseling employs video technology. My computer is slowing way down and causing problems. Also, I need the capability to provide visual presentations when I travel. Several churches are not set up for visual presentations, which are a valuable asset to have available. I also need to be able to work while I am traveling.

I have set a budget of $3,200 to purchase:

  • Apple MacBook Pro 15.4″ with Touch Bar with AppleCare+ – Intel Core i7 – 16GB Memory – 256 GB SSD – Radeon Pro 555X – 4-year maintenance from Costco
  • 27″ monitor to replace the desktop
  • Various cables needed

Would you consider helping with this need? If one person invests $3,200, the need will be met. Alternatively, if eight invest $400, or if 32 invest $100, or if 16 invest $100 and 32 invest $50, the need will be met. Whichever way you choose to participate, your gift will be appreciated.

Making your investment within the next 30 days allows me to prepare for impending commitments. I realize your time and finances are precious. Thank you for reading this and for investing in changed lives through DayStar Ministries.

If you wish to send a check, you may send it to DayStar Ministries • 900 SW Riverview Way • Troutdale, OR 97060. If you want to use a credit card, you may do so here. Please earmark your contribution to computer equipment. US & Canadian funds accepted. DayStar Ministries is a registered 501(c)(3) organization.

Guilt & Shame

Guilt & Shame Guilt and shame have terrible effects on a person, both spiritually and physically.  When someone carries guilt and shame around, unbeknownst to others, it usually affects every part of their life.  In Psalm 38, we find David struggling with this after sinning (which one is unclear).  You can feel the pain and guilt of his…
